There wasn’t a big “aha” moment.
It was a slow build.
The constant noise.
The overwhelm that crept in through everyday things — seams, labels, waistbands, fabrics that just didn’t feel right.
And for a long time, I thought it was just me.
Late Diagnosis, Loud Realisations
Being a late-diagnosed ADHD mum changed everything.
Suddenly, things made sense:
- Why getting dressed could feel exhausting
- Why certain clothes could ruin an entire day
- Why comfort wasn’t just a preference — it was a need
And then I started noticing it in my family too.
Different sensitivities, different triggers… but the same underlying truth:
The world isn’t designed for neurodivergent comfort.
Clothing Was Part of the Problem
We talk a lot about routines, tools, mindset —
but no one really talks about clothing.
Clothing is constant.
It sits on your skin all day.
It can either regulate you… or completely overwhelm you.
Tight seams.
Scratchy fabrics.
Fussy designs.
Things that look good but feel unbearable.
I realised how much energy was being wasted just coping.
So I Created CalmHaus
CalmHaus was born from a simple idea:
What if clothing could actually support you instead of overstimulate you?
Not just “comfy” — but intentionally designed for sensory needs.
Every detail matters:
- Soft, calming fabrics
- Minimal seams
- No unnecessary irritation
- Functional comfort that works with your brain, not against it
Because getting dressed shouldn’t feel like a battle.
This Is More Than Clothing
This brand is for:
- The mums figuring it out later in life
- The families navigating neurodivergence together
- The people who’ve always felt “too sensitive”
You’re not too much.
You’ve just been given the wrong environment.
CalmHaus is about creating a small sense of calm in a world that often feels too loud.
You’re Early — And That Matters
If you’re here right now, you’re part of the beginning.
This isn’t just a clothing brand.
It’s a shift toward designing with real people in mind.
And I’m so glad you’re here.
